Routine

I am happy to report that this week has been quite normal. The return to my routine has felt stabilizing and I am pretty content with that.

I actually love carnations. I had the Hypnosis variety in my wedding bouquet and I couldn’t pass up these frilly peachy ones (or the daffodils) at the grocery store.

Speaking of wedding-y related things, we finally got all of our wedding photos back from our ceremony and reception. The wonderful Jen Lee Light was our photographer and I am so excited to look at them with my love. I’ll share a few of my favourites on here soon.

What I made this week

I recently watched all of Salt Fat Acid Heat on Netflix and completely fell in love with Samin Nosrat. I love her attitude towards food and the look of joy on her face when she eats something delicious. This week I made her Roasted Veggie and Bean salad which I absolutely loved and devoured with sheer happiness. I highly recommend making this for any occasion. It was a super easy weekday dinner and I now I just want to share it with a bunch of people. Also za’atar is my new favourite thing now. Coincidentally on the day I made this I had a rare vegetarian day and gave myself a little pat on the back for not missing meat.

Cauliflower, carrots, parsnips, Brussel sprouts, and Cannelini beans all topped with fresh parsley, dill, mint and feta cheese. So delicious and full of flavor.

I also made a sweet little 80th birthday cake this week which turned out super cute, but unfortunately none of the pictures I took did. I delivered it in the evening and the lightly in my kitchen is just terrible.
