Snow fall

The best part about this week was sitting in bed Thursday morning with the curtains drawn open watching the snow fall. My husband and I were nestled close, our dog Maeby was snoozing on the end of the bed. I took in the beauty of the moment and was so grateful for my tiny family.

I really did not get up to much this week. At the start I was on a serious cleaning and organizing kick. I cleaned out my laundry/storage room and have had an ongoing pile of things I need to take to Goodwill. The pile may or may not still be in my living room…

What I made this week

I did get a hankering for chocolate chip cookies (how could I not) and whipped up a batch on Friday night. I based my recipe off of none other than Joy the Baker’s brown butter chocolate chip cookies. I left a few things out ( I didn’t have any pecans or molasses on hand) and substituted 1/4 cup of the butter for 1/4 cup of peanut butter, and I suggest you do the same. And if you do, DO NOT skip browning the butter. It is literally the best thing.

Here’s to staying warm and not going crazy inside my house.
