Lilac

Wow. So. Ok. It’s been a while. Things have been busy and overwhelming at times these past few weeks, but all in a good way. I feel like I’m finally hitting my stride at Two Crows. I’ve been able to establish some core recipes that will be great staples to lean on while I develop more recipes to branch out the brand. And I now have a (hopefully, only time will really tell) reliable production assistant that can do some of the more “busy” work while I’m off coming up with hair-brained ideas for recipes. I’m hopeful. I feel very much supported by the owners of the business which contributes very much to my positive feelings about this whole experience. I’m navigating this whole thing for the first time, but it’s nice to have someone on my side who believes in me.

The smell of these beauties is intoxicating.

In other news…

Springtime in the Pacific Northwest is happening and so gorgeous. The lilac tree outside my house is in full bloom and I’m obsessed and inspired. I feel like I can’t stop and won’t stop decorating purple cakes.

What I made

It’s been well over a week, so I’ll give you some highlights from the past couple.

First wedding cake of the season!

This is only one of I think 3 other cakes I’ve decorated with lilac. I can’t get enough!

I’m also planning on making lilac wine from an amazing book called Blotto Botany. I came across it in my local bookstore months ago and I literally want to make every single recipe.

That’s all for now, Hopefully I will be better at keeping up with this little blog of mine in the future.

Happy week ahead!
